The Convention of Thorns
The Council | The prevention of war, and the general survival of the Cainite race were supposed to be the agenda, in practice, as is so often the case, the occasion descended quickly into bickering and backbiting, with everybody trying to get as much for themselves as possible.
The Declaration of Clan |
“This Council recognizes that our Cainite race can be divided into seven Clans: The Ventrue, those who are chosen from the rulers of the mortal world; The Brujah, who have led this rebellion; The Toreador, seekers after perfection; The Nosferatu; The Tremere, whose unity is beyond doubt; The Malkavians, united by madness and the Gangrel, the wanderers. Our kind will henceforth be ruled by a Council of Seven Cainites, with one drawn from each Clan. Our laws will be watched over by seven Jusicars, one chosen from each Clan. This will form the structure of our new society.” |
|
The Declaration of Tradition | “The laws of our kind shall be those traditions which have been passed down since the first times.”
The Declaration of the Power of the Prince | “The Prince of a Domain is the arbiter of all law in that domain, save for those traditions already declared, which shall be law for all our kind. The Domain of a Prince is their own, supported by the traditions of Domain and Hospitality. The Prince of a city controls the rights to Progeny and Destruction within the city. None of the Blood who have not been accepted in a domain are protected by the laws of our kind whilst in that domain.”
The Declaration of the Office of Justicar | “That the power of the Princes may not go unchecked, seven Justicars will be appointed as overseers of our laws. The Justicars and their agents [Archon] are to have the freedom to travel where they will, unbound by Domain and Hospitality. It will be a high crime to interfere in their works, any who do so may be punished by death. The Justicars will have the last word in all matters of law, of crime and of punishment.”
Archons. Archons are protected by the privileges of their patron Justicar, they enjoy immunity from the tradition of Hospitality, but not from the tradition of Domain unless working explicitly on the orders of a Justicar. Justicars may delegate their right of judgment to an Archon if they see fit. |
||
Alastors. The elite force of the Camarilla, charged with tracking down the most deadly of the Sect’s enemies. They enjoy immunity to the tradition of Hospitality, and limited immunity to most other traditions.
